Buffalo to Belle Fourche South Dakota
We left around 7am to get started on a long day. We thought we'd have a slight tailwind, but it turned out to be a slight headwind all day. And it got up to about 90 degrees. Fortunately, the wind felt good and not a blast of furnace air.
The scenery was rolling hills, green grass, some bluffs and no trees. The sky has mostly cleared up from the smoke from Canadian wildfires. In the "town" of Redig is a Mercantile that some new owners just bought and are getting it opened up. They have gas and a few snacks. They want to have a restaurant. They live in the RV behind the building. They live in Arizona in the winter. She was very nice and friendly. She took out picture and will hang it up on the wall when she opens the place for good. Even while we were there, several people stopped in. It is 25 miles from Buffalo and 45 miles from Belle Fourche with nothing else along the way.
Shortly after lunch, my front tire went flat.
We made it to Center of the Nation around 315 and to our motel around 345. It was a long day.
73.7 miles
2,205 feet climbing
