Vac Hungary to Esztergom Hungary
We visited a couple of churches in Vac. In the Dominican Church a stairway was discovered in the 19th century that led to a crypt where they found 262 colorful, ornate coffins in good condition.

Also in town is the Triumphal Arch which is a monument for Maria Theresia who visited the city in 1764.
We mostly followed the river about 30 miles to Esztergom Hungary.
There were a few towns and cafes along the way... right on the trail.
The Esztergom Castle and Basilica is our destination on the other side of the Danube River in Hungary. The first king and founder of the Hungarian State - King Saint Stephen (1000 - 1038) - was born in this castle.
We got to the shop at about 230pm, then Don, Mary and I walked to the castle. It was hard to find the entrance and to find our way back, but we made it back in time for ice cream and just before "all aboard".
The ship left at 430. It was a beautiful evening to sit on the sun deck and enjoy the beauty.
