We had a great breakfast at 8 and left around 840am.
The wind was still howling from last night's storm. The temperature was around 60 and it looked like strong wind all day from the NW while we are heading mostly west and southwest.
We got rained on about a dozen times for about 10 minutes. The wind of course did us off immediately!
We visited the tripoint marker where the borders of Lithuania, Poland, and Russia meet. Only Russia put barbed wire around it so it was off limits!
At this point, we'd only give a few miles and we had a long easy to go. The trail lasted several miles.
Then we went back to the quiet, narrow road. The landscape was so pretty, I almost didn't mind the wind. Almost.
We found an old cemetery.
We came to the town of Goldap, which surprised us at how big it is.
We stopped to eat our breakfast sandwiches, and I bought an ice cream cone for $1.53 (not pictured!). We followed the green velo route until we saw this tree across the path and decided there would probably be more. So we backtracked a couple of miles to get back on the paved road.
In Boćwinka, we actually preferred the brick sidewalk over the cobblestone main road.
We made a pit stop at a gas station. This is the second time I've seen these Cheetos... it's just wrong!

We stopped in a town before our destination because it looked like a good place to eat. But, the guys working there (from Bangladesh India) said the grand opening is tomorrow! So we had to settle for getting dinner at the grocery store in Budry.
We got to our lodging at Jasmin around 6pm. This place was $61 (no breakfast).

We had over 2000 feet of climbing in 58 miles with lots of strong wind... it was a long day, but it was so pretty.
