We had breakfast around 7am.

When I went to check out, I asked about the tower. The girl at the desk said it was an observation tower and asked if I'd like to have the key to go up. So, we went up. 

It was a nice view. 

There were two birds trying desperately to get out. They were exhausted.  Lynn and I each grabbed one and took it downstairs to freedom. They were two very lucky birds! 

The girl at the front desk also told me this hotel is a "dancing hotel". Their busy season is from August through spring when they are very busy hosting lots of dance events. 

We got on our bikes around 9am.

This looked like some kind of woodpile jenga game! 

After 30 some miles, we got to Karkola and stopped at a coffee shop for some carrot cake to go with our sandwiches. 

I actually saw a mail service vehicle with someone putting mail into the roadside house mailboxes today. Of all the miles in Finland and all the mailboxes I've seen, this was the first time I saw one being used!  We also saw an actual bus stop at a bus stop in Kellokoski, our destination town. We have seen hundreds of bus stops and this is the first time we saw one with a bus.(and someone got off of it).

We stopped in town to eat, yes pizza again, before going the last 3 miles to Pajulo B&B for the night. This place was $90 for the night,  but they want $25 each for breakfast, so we'll go into town in search of food tomorrow. 

Today was a long day with lots of hills.  The weather was cloudy and in the 60s with 10 to 15 mph headwind most of the time.  Tomorrow, we will only need to ride about 30 miles to get into Helsinki. Then,  we will have a couple of rest/exploring days.  Then, we say goodbye to Finland and hello to Estonia!
