Our mission today (besides the miles and the hills) was to visit the Lidice Peace Garden Memorial. This town and its people were destroyed by the Nazis in retaliation of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. The museum was very well done. We watched a movie with interviews from a few of survivors who were children at the time.
We got to Kladno hotel ($71 including breakfast) around 530pm.
We are on the 4th floor (which is really the 5th). The elevator was so small that my bike would not fit even standing on the back wheel. The aerobars on my handlebars were in the way of the door closing. The desk girl was pretty adamant about nowhere else to put my bike. Finally, she relented and let me put it behind her desk (where she allows luggage). Lynn was able to get hers in the elevator just barely.
We were too tired to go for a walk and it was getting late.
