We had no breakfast at the hotel and no grocery store nearby and we were too tired last night to get and groceries anyway. We got up and started riding around 730. It was a cool 61 degrees. The hottest I saw today was 90... which was not as bad as yesterday. It looks like rain storms this weekend so we decided to ride today and tomorrow's route in case we need an extra day.

We were getting close to half of our miles for the day when we saw the dreaded road construction sign. Fortunately, it was not our route!

Lynn figured out that this crop is hops. We saw LOTS of it.

We did find some road construction.  And, it was easy to go around.

Then we ate lunch at a beer garden.  This is the first place where we could actually get tap water for free since Finland.

We found a shade tree along the path just before crossing a big highway the leads into Munich. The tree had a couple of number tags on it.
Around 3pm, we came into a town with a round about. Generally, when there is traffic, we get up on the pedestrian walkway which is usually brick or cobblestone. There is always at least a 1 inch curb to get onto the path. And it's always hard to see since the color blends into the road or it's shady or both. You have to turn into the curb instead of going along the side of it. Anyway, as soon as I got onto it, I heard a crash then saw Lynn on the ground (path side, not road side where the traffic was). She popped up onto her feet before I could stop and walk back to her.  She's bruised but not broken.  And she had no problem riding the last 15 miles. I know I have a lot of people praying for our safety... so thanks for that! God is good!

We got into Dachau around 5pm.

We got to Hotel Amedia around 530pm. Usually, we just take our bikes to our room with us.  But the maintenance guy happened to be at the front desk and saw us and said bikes were not allowed in the rooms. So we asked for a secure place to put them.  He tried to get us to leave them outside but we don't have heavy duty bike locks with us.  So we tried the laundry room. Then a manager opened up a conference room for us.  Perfect. This hotel is $142 per night with breakfast.

As always, we booked a room with 2 beds so we were surprised by one bed.
I went to the desk and asked if we could get a room with 2 beds.  The manager was there and he said they only have rooms with twin beds pushed together to make one bed and there is no room to pull them apart. So, he just gave us a second room for free.  (We would have booked somewhere else that actually had 2 separate beds had the description on booking.com been accurate.)

After cleaning up, (and around 7pm) we walked a quarter mile to get pizza. It rained and thundered while we were eating.  Then we got back to the hotel around 930pm. The place was good... and slow.

This was a long day but there weren't toomany hills to climb and the temperature didn't get over 90... so it was a good day... and beautiful scenery!
