The forecast showed thunderstorms starting at noon at our destination. So, we got up early and left by 6am, while it was still sunny out! 

It was very quiet this early in the morning. 

The one cafe and one grocery store along the route were both closed when we got there... we were too early. 

About 10 miles from our destination, We met a German cyclist heading to Tromso Norway. She had stayed at the place where we are going for the night.

We got to Poro Pekan Pirtti around 11am. 

It's very compact but has everything you need (and more than we need). 

Our cabin was ready for us even though we arrived around 11. Oh, and it started very lightly raining 5 minutes after we arrived for about 10 minutes.  The wind did pick up quite a bit so there's that.

While waiting for dinner, I walked to the river. 

This place is an old family farm. The owner's grandfather built the place. It is still a reindeer farm and place for lodging. The buusy time is in the winter, mostly for viewing the northern lights. The owners maintain all the buildings and cook the meals. Two of their three sons also live in the property. Here is a traditional reindeer herders coat.
