We had the usual breakfast at 8am, then headed out in the rain.

The weather looked like rain all day with the heaviest at noon. The temperature was 53 to 58 and the wind was 15 to 20 in our face (mostly). Oh, and there were a lot of hills. And, it was a beautiful ride! 

It was a very light rain most of the time so we stopped for some pictures.

We made it to Pielavesi during the heavy (but it wasn't bad) rain. We got hot chocolate and fried cheese and ate our sandwiches for about an hour then headed out while it was not raining. 

We saw the birthplace of Finnish President Urho Kekkonen, but did not take the time to visit the museum. 

We moved on and saw more picturesque scenery. 

We got to our lodge around 345pm. We are in cabin number 8... the best one at Lossisaari Tourist Center. 

I reserved one for $116 and asked for ground floor if available.  The manager offered me this one for no extra charge because it was the only one on ground floor. I think he must have thought I wanted the bed on the ground floor because I think we could have brought the bikes into any of the cabins.  Anyway, this one is way nice! 

Upstairs, there are 4 beds, a sofa and a balcony. 

It really is on an island.

We walked around a bit.

Then, we walked back to the office to get a pizza to eat on our porch.

Even though it rained more today than the other day,  I stayed dryer today. The main reason is that I wore my waterproof shoe covers (instead of keeping them dry in my bag). I pulled my pant legs over the shoe covers so they would not drip into my shoes.  Also, I zipped my raincoat all the way up and buckled my helmet over the collar. Little things help! The weather looks better for tomorrow.
