First dam of Missouri River

Helena to Townsend Montana 

Kay and I enjoyed coffe around the fire pit and breakfast with our warmshowers hosts, Kevin and Monique Dumuth before heading out to meet up with Lynn, Lona and Sandra. 

I didn't catch the name of the cat that watches over Monique's mom, Helen. 

We headed east out of Helena on US12. It was a busy, busy road. Most of the time, the shoulder was good.  Most of the time, the cars moved over.  All of the time, it was very scenic. 

Canyon Ferry is where the first dam on the Missouri River is located. 

We got to Townsend around 2pm. Lona's husband Neal picked her up to take her home to Helena.  It was great to ride with her a make a new friend!
