Needles and Crazy Horse

Rest day - driving Custer State Park Wildlife Loop and Needles Highway and visiting Crazy Horse Monument 

We piled into the car and drove the wildlife loop in Custer State Park.  We saw Antelope and Bison.  

We drove to the top of Mt Coolidge.  There was a couple up there with a very strong scope.  They let us look.  We could see bison, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse from there. It turns out that this couple was from the same town as Lynn and only lived a couple of miles from her. 

Then we drove 87 North which is Needles Highway.

There is someone in red climbing this one (picture below).

Then we ate lunch at Buglin Bull (but no ice cream) in Custer.

Then,  Mike, Lynn and I went to see Crazy Horse. 

I remember seeing this as a kid (maybe around 1974) and it was still just a chunk of rock with no discernable features. 

Since we drove the Wildlife Loop today, we saw part of our route tomorrow and decided to change the route to an easier way to Hot Springs.
