Not lost long.
Breakfast was the usual fabulous buffet.
The boat docked in Devin Austria. We disembarked and found our bikes ready to roll.
In 1809 the castle was destroyed by Napoleonic forces. I stopped to take a picture and didn't see where my friends turned. My navigator wasn't working (due to user error) so I followed a German speaking couple to claimed with confidence "dis vay". It was not "dis vay". So, I turned back and found the path. I could follow the map on my navigator but it required me to hold my phone and look (I didn't have a good way to mount it for viewing). So, I just kept pedaling and enjoying the sights. The path crossed the site where the Iron Curtain had been between the border of Austria and Slovakia (was Czekoslovakia).
Prince Eugene's former hunting lodge was used as a country residence for the Habsburgs under the rule of Maria Theresa. It was used to "relieve the soul from the burden of ruling".
Mary blended in with the palace walls.

Always a detour.
Apparently the tour director didn't know about the detour, but we managed to find our way through town and back to the trail.

Another Iron Curtain bunker.
In Bratislava.
After a snack and shower, we took a bus and walking tour around the city. We saw the Bratislava Castle and walked through Michael's Gate to the old city.View from the castle shows the old buildings from the communist times. To the right (outside of picture) is Austria and to the left is Hungary.
The smoke stack is the refinery which employs 10,000 people. It is a refinery for Russian oil. The are working to convert it to oil from Saudi Arabia, but it will take a long time due to the type of oil it processes.

We walked into the old town through the only remaining gate (it once had a drawbridge over the moat).
Dinner menu.
Wow. It was a busy day and super fun. The ship is leaving around 9pm and we will arrive in Budapest at 8am for another busy day.
