Arctic Circle Cycling

Nordkapp to Honnisvag Norway

The ride to Nordkapp on the bus with the racers (mentioned yesterday) was beautiful. 

We got to Nordkapp around 7pm. The weather was quickly deteriorating. The fog came in, the wind picked, the temperature dropped, the rain kept coming down. 

We couldn't see the Arctic Ocean. 

We decided to leave Nordkapp around 8pm instead of waiting until midnight.  Turns out it took us until midnight to get 20 miles.  At times the wind was so strong, it nearly blew us over (me and my bike weigh nearly 210 pounds). 

I'm quite certain these were the worse conditions I've ever ridden in... late at night,  fog, rain, 35 degree temperature, at least 30 mph wind... and yet, I am so glad to have this opportunity to be here and see this part of the world. Welcome to Norway, indeed.
