Helsinki "rest day"

Sat, Jul 13, 2024
We went to the Market Square for breakfast at about 830am
The vendors were still opening up their tents.
I think this is a ferry of train station from 1889.
We went to the number 1 stop for the Hop on - Hop off city bus tour. It was $37 each. There were 19 stops. We readv the mall and decided which ones to get off at. We sat next to a family from Austin Texas. It was fun to talk to them. When we were in Rovaniemi at Santa Clause Village, I spoke to a boy from Dallas Texas. Those have been the only US citizens so far that I know of.
Lynn needed to print a form to fill out for for her package that is being held by customs. So we went to the library.  It was way cool!
We went to the amusement park in search of long licorice ropes and lunch... both were yummy. You can get into the park for free. But I think the rides cost money.  And all proceeds from the park go towards children's welfare.
This was possibly the best salad I have ever had.
Alexander II was the Russian Emperor who gave Finland statehood.
We ate dinner at Allas Restaurant. It was also very good! Gyro with fried halluma (local cheese). White chocolate on a pineapple with carmel sauce and berries.
Goodnight, Finland!
