Rolling wheat fields

Othello to 20 miles past Washtucna Washington

We got an early start at 745am to avoid the heat. However, it was delayed a bit by discovering that Kay's tire went flat overnight.  That makes a flat tire for each of us in Othello Washington.  I also had a flat 10 miles before Othello. So, I'm the winner of the most flats award.

Once we  fixed Kay's flat, we said goodbye to Darryl and headed out in the cool 62 degree morning. Darryl is heading back to Kansas.  We'll see him again in a few weeks in South Dakota. Lynn's sister-in-law, Sandra, will take over sag duties.

We rode by lots of big wheat fields. One county sign said it was the largest wheat producing county in the nation.

There were also some large rock cuts on Washington highway 26.

We crossed over the very rocky looking Columbia Plateau Trail.

Wa-26 is very scenic, indeed.
It was such a nice day and we were making good time,  so we decided to go 20 miles past our destination of Washtucna. Lynn's sister in law picked us up.  Then she drove us to the very scenic Palouse Falls State Park. https://www.parks.wa.gov/559/Palouse-Falls-State-Park-Heritage-Site
It was beautiful!

Tomorrow, we ride to Colfax Washington  and beyond.
